International Times - David Crosby If I Could Only Remember My Name
David Crosby: “If I could only remember my name…”
Alan Dearling On the music of David Crosby.
"So, now I want to tell you a little about the musicians who helped David create his first solo album, ‘If I could only remember my name’. They included many ‘A-listers’ from the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, plus Joni Mitchell, C,S,N &Y and many more. In turn, many of them later turned up in the Planet Earth Rock ‘n’ Roll Orchestra – PERRO (but, hey that’s another story).
But not everyone is aware that in 2021, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of David’s solo album, a rather wonderful double CD version of the album was produced by Rhino with Atlantic. The original album has been re-mastered from analogue tapes."
we were both at the CSNY, Band and Joni Mitchel gig at Wembley Stadium 1974 (like someone else we know?)

Over used and misused....not Croz and his powders and potions but the word "unique". However I think "If I Could Only...." is definitely a unique LP. Nothing quite like it anywhere that I know of. And very good to boot.
It was great to see him come through all the trials and tribulations of the later 70s the 80s and 90s to produce some lovely music in the 21st century.
Indeed but his past really hacked me off and that he ended up still slagging folk off was tremendously hurtful to his friendships and his fan base. Saying horrid things about Neil’s wife, Daryl Hannah was a step too far. Unforgivable really. Cocaine will do that to a fellah turn them into grasses, snitches and all round twats!
indeed indeed... BBC4 had a documentary about him a few years back ...same time as the Laurel Canyon one....my recollection was that he was very honest and admitted he'd been a twat and seemed to genuinely regret it.
It doesn't make up for doing it but it raised him a little in my estimation...
