The Junky’s Christmas, 1989 by William S. Burroughs (Dir Francis Ford Coppola)

 "LITTLE CHRISTMAS"!

It is what the Irish call Nollaig na mBan or 'Women's Christmas' or more recently and (more comfortably?) 'Little Christmas' where mummers call round and sing and play with folks' they approach in the streets . . . . . apparently so the little woman could have a bit of a rest after all that cooking and cleaning, Christmas prep and fairly a sit down. The menfolk were said to make cakes for them!! . . . . . . . . . did someone mention cake?!

so what better time to enjoy (sic) The Junky's Christmas by William S Burroughs as directed by Francis Ford Coppola and music by the legendary and quite eclectic and extraordinary, Hal Wilner who we lost this last year . . .

The Junky’s Christmas, 1989, produced by Francis Ford Coppola, narrated by William S. Burroughs

Because Christmas is also a dark time for many. This is a short story by American writer and visual artist William S. Burroughs, adapted into short claymation film produced by Coppola, in 1993 about a penniless addict withdrawing from opiates on Christmas day. Trigger warning.
