The Byrds - Eight Miles High (from ‘untitled’ live!) | Top Hat Crew's "Live Music Archives"

The Byrds - Eight Miles High

Friday you say? Something to wake you up and prepare you for the weekend!?
Well don’t mind if’n I do . . . there is much trolling whenever this appears online that fascinates me. People don’t seem to remember jamming, jam sessions and endless bass and drum solos. You weren’t a proper rock band if you couldn’t manage one of your hits into half hour long jams and especially a drum solo of 12 minutes minimum and of course kudos abounded if your metal was shown and you could manage a bass solo as well. People are saying they were rubbish and boring and could not play! You really don’t get the sixties then hey bro?!

This is AWESOME! It was written by Dave Crosby as he prolly was mostly 8 miles high most of the time anyway . . . .and he isn’t even here! Was this a dig? Was this a sour grapes smash in the mush as we Brits might say? I reckon . . . . . look what they did to your song Ma!?

Not sintriely sure that McGuinn was entirely at home with this but he settled in for the ride

Can ya digit? I think you can . . . . . . . this one’s for you lot . . . on with the motley!
