Carl Orff vs Han Zimmer (True Romance) Street Song by Carl Orff (Schulwerk)

Now here’s a difficult one for me in that it raises my ire and yet I confess I may not know the full reasoning but the music here used in Tony Scott’s 'True Romance' (written by Quentin Tarantino) the music for which is claimed by soundtrack impresario Hans Zimmer . . . . .it is is of course from Carl Orff’s Schulwerk a favourite piece of classical music of mine and yet the so called legendary soundtrack composer Hans Zimmer claims it as his own composition and even Wikipedia briefly barely mentions the connection but nowhere else does it appear on the soundtrack album itself or film credits or anywhere else it sees and it is NOT [IMHO] composed by Zimmer! (wiki: "The score for Tony Scott's True Romance (1993) was composed by Hans Zimmer, which is a theme based on Gassenhauer nach Hans Neusiedler (1536) by Gunild Keetman, published in 1952 in Musik für Kinder by Schulwerk”)

If it is composed by Zimmer you listen to both and you decide!

Street Song (Gassenhauer) / Xylophone Fantasy (Improvisation) - By Carl Orff & Gunild Keetman, 1974

as is my won’t round here to try to find live versions of piece of music I find that I enjoy, there is this . . . . . . by Carl Orff!

Michael Barranco Senior Recital 6. Gassenhauer - Carl Orff

and of course you recall the soundtrack to Terrence Malick’s Badlands starring Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen!?
He credits this piece to Carl Orff . . . . . . (rightly?)

so perhaps the classical musicians out there can tell me what exactly has Zimmer composed exactly?

Carl Orff [& Gunhild Keetman]: Musica Poetica
I: Gassenhauer · Der Tölzer Knabenchor

but of course it is composed by Hans Zimmer and this number on his soundtrack is entitled “You’re So Cool”
