A favourite film . . . . . .an occasional series

'THE LAST PICTURE SHOW'
"If she was here I’d probably be just as crazy now as I was then in about 5 minutes. Ain’t that ridiculous?… Naw, it ain’t really. ‘Cause being crazy about a woman like her is always the right thing to do. Being an old decrepit bag of bones, that’s what’s ridiculous. Gettin’ old"

Peter Bogdanovich's 'The Last Picture Show' is a favourite film and Jeff Bridges remained a favourite afterwards but also the incandescently innocent (well here) Cybil Shepherd but the whole cast including stalwart Ben Johnson, the wondrous Ellen Burstyn, Cloris Leachman (Oscar & BAFTA as supporting actor) and Jeff Bridges who I would watch in anything and Timothy Bottoms who turn in fabulous heart wrenching performances. Not to miss Eileen Brennan and an early performance by Randy Quaid
