K SPECIAL VA - Reggae Lovers Rock: The 214 Greatest Lovers Rock Reggae Tracks of All Time (Super Deluxe Edition) (17CD) (2026)

To celebrate Valentine's Day along with Black History Month: Sunday, February 1st, 2026 - Sunday, March 1st, 2026, here is my personal compilation of 214 (2/14 February 14th) classic Lovers Rock reggae songs.

Lovers Rock is a style of reggae music noted for its romantic sound and content. While love songs had been an important part of reggae since the late 1960s, the style was given a greater focus and a name in London in the mid-1970s.

The Sundays - 35th Anniversary 1990-2025

Butterboy has posted a superb profile on the Sundays by regally K Special not entirely sure why - seems a tad out of the box from BB but hey 6 CDs can’t be bad Despite the undoubted appeal of singer Harriet Wheeelr they were something of a one (two?- ED) hit wonder and not sure the warrant a 6 CD profile but hey K knows best

Stephen Duffy & The Lilac Time - 40th Anniversary 1985-2025 (Box Set) (2025) | A ‘K’ Special

  . . . . . . . well that called my bluff!

Now I liked Stephen 'Tin-Tin' Duffy and The Lilac time but am pretty sure I featured their hit Kiss as a one hit wonder or maybe an ear worm - it IS very catchy 80’s pop but this set from Butterboy’s ‘K’  is  34 CDs LONG!

Is that some kinda record (sic!?)      sorry not sorry

The Beautiful South - Carry On Up the Charts: The Best of The Beautiful South | BUTTERBOY

K SPECIAL The Beautiful South - Carry On Up the Charts: The Best of The Beautiful South

(30th Anniversary Remastered Expanded Deluxe Edition) [2024] (17 x CDs - count ’em )

A ‘K’ SPECIAL

In celebration of 30 years since the multi-million selling Carry On Up the Charts compilation by The Beautiful South was first released on 7 November 1994, here is my fully remastered and expanded 30th anniversary deluxe edition which now features every single release of their entire career from 1988 to 2007.

Also includes the original 1994 bonus CD with an added bonus track.

Carry On Up the Charts: The Best of The Beautiful South is an album by English alternative pop rock group The Beautiful South. It is the group's fifth album and their first greatest hits collection. It was a major commercial success, reaching number one in the UK Albums Chart and going on to become the second biggest selling album of 1994.

Carry On Up the Charts was released in November 1994, the same year as the band's previous album Miaow, with its only single, "One Last Love Song", being released in October 1994, only two months after "Prettiest Eyes"; the last single to be taken from Miaow. "One Last Love Song" reached number 14 in the UK Singles Chart.

The album includes all of the single releases from the band's first five years in order of their release. Its title is a reference to the Carry On film series. A two-disc Limited Edition version was also released, with the bonus disc containing Non-LP/CD B-sides from the singles.

Released at a time when the group's album sales had been waning, it proved to be a surprise success. The album reached no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart on 3 December 1994 and went on to become the second biggest selling album of 1994.

By the summer of 1995 it was certified as 5× platinum in the UK. Such was the album's popularity, it was claimed that one in seven British households owned a copy.

The cover painting by Matthew Radford is my personally autographed original CD sleeve by Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway.

All original CD booklet paintings credited to Matthew Radford, courtesy of Houldsworth Fine Art.

A staggeringly thorough seventeen disc set!
