The Golden Dawn - Starvation (1968)

Fantastic driving Texas psych rock - not miles away from their friends the 13th Floor Elevators. Vocalist George Kinney seems to be providing an “instruction manual on psychedelic thought”.

You’ve got to redefine yourself
If you wish to find
The crystal visions of an open mind
And it’s easy

from the always fascinating Guess I’m Dumb

Silent Way’s source reckons that its a pre-FM soundboard but the audience is right there in your face so I reckon its just a very good audience recording but hey its really good quality so apart from the chattering classes incessant blurbling but really don’t let that put you off, its well worth the listen.

Enjoy!
