Love this song and didn't realise until hearing the Blues Brothers do it that it was really old and nor did I realise until a few years ago that the Rolling Stones had covered it so early on when I downloaded all the Stones stuff from the first days through to 'Sticky Fingers' which is pretty much where I left them . . . . . . whilst the date is the 13th Feb it seem pretty good for St. Valentine's Day! Noting it was written by Bert Berns, Solomon Burke and Jerry Wexler, and originally recorded by Solomon Burke where it charted in the USA at 58 until it started to be covered amongst others by Wilson Pickett a couple of years later and then when loads started to cover it later still it finally achieved the top 500 songs of all time

On this day in music history: February 13, 1965 - “The Rolling Stones, Now!”, the third album by The Rolling Stones is released. Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham, it is recorded at Regent Sound and Olympic Studios in London and RCA Studios in Hollywood, CA from June 8 - November 10, 1964. Issued the US as the follow up to “12x5”, the album is a compilation with tracks drawn from the bands second UK album “Rolling Stones No. 2”, and padded with songs released previously as singles in the UK. Five tracks on the US “Now!” album later surface on the UK edition of “Out Of Our Heads”. “Heart Of Stone” is issued as a single in the US and peaks at #19 on the Hot 100. The Willie Dixon penned “Little Red Rooster” is released as a single in the UK and hits number one. In 2002, the album is remastered and reissued as a hybrid SACD in digipack packaging. The hybrid disc goes out of print just a couple of years later, and subplanted by a standard redbook CD release which remains in print today. The mono edition of the album, out of print since the late 60’s, is remastered and reissued on CD and vinyl as part of the box set “The Rolling Stones In Mono” in 2016. “The Rolling Stones, Now!” peaks at number five on the Billboard Top 200, and is certified Gold by the RIAA.
