Far Out Magazine- Eno’s Top 13 favourite albums

the original article from The Quietus on release of Eno’s The Ship album in 2022 is much more informed and intelligent but sheesh this list is about as pretentious as you can get . . . . . . . how about a top Ten Brian? a Top Twenty even but no . . . a top 13 its called being knowingly perverse and a curmudgeon ( I know, I am one!) but please bet its a different list today

The QUIETUS- Eno’s Baker’s Dozen his favourite records

Court & Spark? Really!?

The Velvet’s is a given but the first the only album? No Reed or Cale on their own? No Discreet Music connection no Gavin Bryars? No Bowie!? No U2 (he produced them) No Devo? He produced them too! Not Talking Heads? Nobody from the ambient scene? No early pop?

and I really like Me’Shell but favourite album?! Early Steve Reich? the terrible sexist and worst of African resurgence interest, Fela Kuti? Really? Sly and The Family Stone!? REALLY?

If this is an attempt to be gauche and weird it isn’t . . its sort of dull! and predictable in an oddball odd kinda way! Curiously unadventurous and . . . . .well, boring!

Hey Ho each to their own . . . . . .
