John French and the Mt Tamalpais Fantasy Fair photographer!

Fascinating article on the CBS Evening News from John ‘Drumbo’ French the archivist and brains of the Band (Magic that is!)  . . . . .

John says:

"The reason I share this is because there are a bunch of B&W photos taken at the ill-fated Mt. Tamalpais Fantasy Fair performance that just showed up in a canister,  undeveloped.  The Fantasy Fair was called "America's first Rock Festival," and took place mid-June of 1967.   Much of the collection was placed on YouTube by a woman, Sarah Lakin ( I may be wrong about the last name, I'll have to go dig out the folder) with "Electricity" playing in the background.  The music is gone, but the photos are still there.  As you can see, they are very high-quality photos.  I'm wondering now if it's the same person who left behind dozens of undeveloped canisters of 35 mm film that is featured in this NEWS segment.  I contacted Sarah, and she kindly sent me several of the photos developed, and printed on high grade paper.  I guess she figured I'd want mostly photos of myself, so most of them are of me.  It was interesting to see the NEWS segment and realize that it could be that this photographer was one and the same.  As I recall, the undeveloped canister was found in the case of a pawned camera.  Or, maybe that's just creative writing on my part..."

". . . . . Bill Delzell has a massive and mysterious collection of photos. There's no doubt about the time and place: San Francisco in the 1960s. The mystery is who the photographer was and why did they leave behind hundreds of rolls film never developed? John Blackstone has the story for CBS Evening News Plus"
