I think we all had a terrible crush on Shirley Manson when Garabage first hit and today is no exception as Kostas at URBANASPIRINES has done a great job exploring their position in the post-punk oeuvre!
We always claimed her as our own hailing as she does from North of the border here but Kostas reminds us:
Garbage is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band's line-up consisting of Scottish musician Shirley Manson (vocals) and American musicians Duke Erikson (guitar, bass, keyboards), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards), and Butch Vig (drums, percussion) has remained unchanged since its inception. All four members are involved in songwriting and production. Garbage was the brainchild of producers Butch Vig, Duke Erikson, and Steve Marker.
