Things we may have missed at Glastonbury 2025

 SIR IAN McKELLEN

Oh, Ian McKellen!” In one Glastonbury’s most heartfelt moments that weekend, 86-year-old Sir Ian McKellen (@ianmckellen) made a surprise appearance on stage alongside Scissor SistersJake Shears - and was met with a tidal wave of love and admiration from the crowd.
As thousands chanted his name, the legendary thespian - who’s unforgettable roles include Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Shakespearean theatre, and countless stage triumphs - stood visibly moved, soaking in the affection of generations united in appreciation.
A national treasure, lifelong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, and one of the greatest living actors, Sir Ian embodies the power of performance to transcend age and era. His presence was more than a cameo; it was a powerful reminder that talent, authenticity, and cultural icons & talents like him have a unique ability to bring us together across generations and backgrounds.
Thank you, Sir Ian, for a continued lifetime of brilliance, talent, bravery, and connection. 🫶✨
