Ending the day with this from John Prine and his cronies and just a year before his death . . . . .astonishing guts, sheer bloody minded braggadocio and sheer cajones!
Look at the love in the bands faces . . . . . . not a dry eye in the house here
"This may even be the last professionally shot concert footage of John Prine ever, captured live at The Capitol Theatre in Portchester, NY on April 12, 2019 - just shy of a year before his death. There’s a bunch of cell phone footage from his final year, but nothing I’ve ever seen that can touch this. John was ailing plenty at that point, but he is so fully engaged in this performance, it’s inspiring to see.He played for well over two hours, and this is the wonderful tail end of it, with better audio now synchronized. The songs speak for themselves and what songs they are! Nobody addressed the human condition in song better than John."
- Lake Marie

- Paradise

So his late signature move of dancing off stage to Lake Marie a year before his death, I found this hard to watch for the longest time but heck . . . . . . He was apparently in no pain and boy was he enjoying himself. Post operative (x2) for cancer operations on his neck and still with a voice to hit you in the heart, he fought the greatest fight and hell's teeth it took COVID-19 to knock him down for the very last time!
Bob Dylan said:
“Midwestern mindtrips to the nth degree. And he writes beautiful songs. I remember when Kris Kristofferson first brought him on the scene. All that stuff about Sam Stone the soldier junky daddy and Donald and Lydia, where people make love from ten miles away. Nobody but Prine could write like that.
If I had to pick one song of his, it might be Lake Marie
