Speaking of sailing on a summer breeze . . . .
Born on this day: June 15, 1941 - Singer, songwriter and musician drinking buddy to John Lennon, Harry Nilsson (born Harry Edward Nilsson III in Brooklyn, NY).
Happy Birthday to this brilliant and visionary artist on what would have been his 77th Birthday.
Rest easy now Harry! we miss that golden peerless voice
N.B pretty sure I first heard this beautiful seering song on the soundtrack for 'Midnight Cowboy' with Dustin Hoffman performing one of his most heart wrenching performances and Jon Voight as the eponymous hero 'Joe Buck' his most pathos ridden character displaying such a loss of innoncence as he experiences Andy Warhol's uncaring brutal New York city in John Schlesinger's Oscar winning masterpiece. Though quite why Hoffman didn't win Best Actor is beyond me for it is widely considered a career defining tour de force
