 JERRY JEFF WALKER

Dead at 78

My favourite version of the classic song about a homeless man 'Mr Bojangles' always was by the man who wrote it Jerry Jeff's and I was introduced to him like lots of earlier Country music people (The Highwaymen, Johnny Cash, Willie and Waylon, Tom T Hall and others) by my older brother Steve. Great voice and the voice of Texas amongst others . . . . . .

Jerry Jeff Walker obituary at Saving Country Music

"Between Hank Williams' pain songs and Jerry Jeff's train songs
And blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas there ain't nobody feelin' no pain"

Luchenbach Texas by Waylon Jennings
