Song of The Day :: Bob Dylan - Po' Boy

Only one way to respond to a Joni Mitchell post . . . . . with a Bob Dylan still working and stilll active and here still writing uniquely thrilling reflective and contemplative soothing songs

Knockin’ on the door, I say, “Who is it and where are you from?”
Man says, “Freddy!” I say, “Freddy who?” He says, “Freddy or not here I come”
Poor boy ’neath the stars that shine
Washin’ them dishes, feedin’ them swine

A knock-knock joke, Bob? It's actually riddled with such, offering the guy four dollars for something he's been asked to pay three for, in the hotel called the Palace of Gloom. Calls down to room service, says, "Send up a room" etc etc riddle with famers and travelling salesman, dodging state laws and weirdness but rooted in classic Americana idioms
