BRASSED OFF! Sunday Musics!

Thanks (again!) to TWILIGHTZONE for posting the wonderful clip from the film Brassed Off starring the late great Pete Postlethwaite, Ewan MacGregor and the lovely Tara Fitzgerald (no jokes about pursing lips or blowing horns thank you!) and the concerto excerpt from Rodrigo's "Concerto d’Orangejuice" (Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez) See who else you can spot it is a veritable smorgasbord of British actors. (Stephen’s Tomkinson and Moore, Jim Carter, Sue Johnstone, Melanie Hill etc)

Growing up and being born in the North of England, the brass band was a working class tradition and many a happy hour was spent with my Mum & Dad and big brother and Grandad listening to the Brass Bands play on the Promenade at Fleetwood down by the bowling green . . . . . it's in the blood and this piece is so stirring. It is of course played by the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band  Lovely stuff
