Yo Neighbour, love Dr Hook. Except for this period, which I believe was their 'clean' period, where they went disco! They were bankrupt (hence the title of their LP in 1975), therefore decided the only way to make any 'serious money' was to clean up their act. I recommend any of their offerings before this period, but especially Bankrupt, if you ain't heard it - Everyone's making it big but me; Stoned and I missed it; The Millionaire are pure classics. Helped by the superb writing of Shel Silverstein (now he is a funny guy!).
Saw them in 76 at Hammy O and they were brilliant (albeit well stoned!), but soooo funny.
Keep up the great work. Cheers DD
Forgot say Andy, we were talking a few weeks back about female bassists and forgot all about this lady. Janice-Marie Johnson - she sings, plays bass and dances - what a woman!!! - and great song too. 1970s funk and a real ear worm!
