WRITER, SINGER, AND RESTORE PATRON EMILY MAGUIRE TO PERFORM POETRY AND SONGS AT RESTORE ON SATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER!SINGER, songwriter, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist, and Restore patron Emily Maguire is coming to Manzil Way as part of an extensive UK tour, and tickets are available!
Emily’s heartfelt, thought-provoking lyrics, emotive voice, many albums, and spellbinding live performances have won her fans across the globe, none more so than here in Oxfordshire.
With a remarkable story of recovery to tell, Emily has been interviewed many times on Radio 2 and Radio 4 including ‘Midweek’ with Libby Purves. A breakdown at 16, diagnosed as acute clinical depression combined with a car crash that same year brought on a condition known as FMS (fibromyalgia pain syndrome), causing constant pain.
“I started writing songs and the illness suddenly became a complete blessing in disguise as I had all this time on my hands to write”, Emily says.
Emily can’t wait to be touring again and she’s looking forward to promoting her new poetry book ‘Meditation Mind’ and playing songs on acoustic guitar accompanied by her husband on double-bass. There will be a short Q&A at the end. Every penny goes directly to Restore.
Emily’s performance starts at 7.00pm at Restore on Manzil Way, Cowley Road, Oxford, and tickets (£11.25 including a booking fee) are available by clicking here!
Please book early as places are limited!
