I am forever and always astounded at the never ending inventive flow from my fellow musicians and songwriters. It’s encouraging that the song form can hold such a variety of expression...some follow somewhat familiar templates, but just as often they abandon any tried and true song structure- and often it still works. This anthropologist from Mars can’t help note the prevalence of so many songs about love gone wrong, love so right, love where are you? And love you make me so mad. Some folks are super well known and some are not. Not all of these are super recent- some are from the Old World, pre covid...that now seems so long ago.
