ERIC CLAPTON SUFFERS VACCINE SIDE-EFFECTS

It hurts me, too.

Eric Clapton has shared his experience of being vaccinated, calling his reactions to it "disastrous" and criticising the so-called "propaganda" promoting the vaccine's safety. In a letter written to Italian architect (and anti-lockdown activist) Robin Monotti Graziadei, shared on Telegram and verified by Rolling Stone, Clapton detailed the side effects he claims to have experienced after receiving the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.

"I took the first jab of AZ and straight away had severe reactions which lasted 10 days. I recovered eventually and was told it would be 12 weeks before the second one..." Clapton wrote in the letter. "About six weeks later I was offered and took the second AZ shot, but with a little more knowledge of the dangers. Needless to say the reactions were disastrous, my hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks, I feared I would never play again (I suffer with peripheral neuropathy and should never have gone near the needle). But the propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone . . ."

Last year, Clapton teamed up with fellow lockdown sceptic Van Morrison for the track 'Stand and Deliver', which was just one of many songs Morrison recorded about the UK government's approach to curbing the spread of Covid-19. "I continue to tread the path of passive rebellion and try to tow [sic] the line in order to be able to actively love my family, but it's hard to bite my tongue with what I now know," Clapton wrote in his letter.

"Then I was directed to Van [Morrison]; that's when I found my voice, and even though I was singing his words, they echoed in my heart... I recorded 'Stand and Deliver' in 2020, and was immediately regaled with contempt and scorn."

Clapton suffering from self-admitted alcohol abuse related peripheral neuropathy must surely have let his doctors and medical team know I assume but seems not to have taken on board any research into such vulnerabilities himself. Or at least drawn a parallel between the two!? We of course are sympathetic to anyone suffering health related issues that may have been affected by Covid vaccination but you really cannot judge the rest of the world's issues because of your own highly personal health history or record of drug and alcohol addiction! That he should have suffered any side effects is unfortunate but he is still alive and I tell you what IS "disastrous" Eric the deaths globally of some 3.43M out of currently 166million cases of those who caught it and the families of those who have caught it and died from it might have something to say about vax naysayers or avoiders or anti vaxxers like his friend Van Morrison and their subsequent misinformation because of one person's reaction however much his condition might be considered by some as self inflicted seems a tad ignorant to say the least.Especially after having taken it! Wonder if Van has taken his shots?

A little "contempt and scorn" having taken some antisocial stance after actually being vaccinated [presumably by our wonderful NHS] is a mere slight inconvenience one could be forgiven for thinking surely? Perhaps he might rather consider doing some vol work with the NHS and help out the nursing staff? Stand and Deliver indeed!

Bite your tongue and toe the line please!

FRED DELLAR R.I.P. 2021

Former NME journalist Fred Dellar has died May 16, it has been confirmed. A beloved and highly respected writer, Dellar worked for the NME from 1972 until the mid-'90s, and wrote the Fred Fact column for the magazine as well as compiling the crossword and contributing reviews, features and more. A three-page Factory Records special of the Fred Fact column was given its own catalogue number, FAC227, by the label in 1989. "Hang on to this page," Dellar wrote in the July 1 issue announcing the news. "It will shortly acquire a value far exceeding the fee you paid for this edition of the best rock paper in the world and then continue to soar. So don't ditch it - ever!" - NME

His age and year of birth was not reported. Well that's not exactly true is it Big O?

Fred Dellar, died on 15 May, just a few days short of his 90th birthday, was a true NME legend.

THE LAST WORD on 'BULLIES'

"I think it was smart that you're wary of using the word 'terrorism', and if you talk about the cycle of violence, or 'an eye for an eye', you could be perpetuating the idea that the Isaeli-Palestinian conflict is a balanced conflict, instead of a largely unarmed people against the fourth most powerful military in the world
