"Downtown (Downtempo)" performed by Anya Taylor-Joy - Official Music Video - Last Night in Soho

 DOWNTOWN- ANYA TAYLOR-JONES

For my son, he likes her . . . . I like her but lately feel she has lost far too much weight and she is looking more and more like an alien goddess!
We had been talking about Edgar Wright and Last Night In Soho as I hadn’t seen it yet . . . . .
we are Wright fans!

In acclaimed director Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller, Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker. https://www.instagram.com/lastnightin... https://twitter.com/lastnightinsoho

Last Night in Soho (2021), dir. Edgar Wright, is an immersive, stylish, hallucinatory, & gritty yet glamorous psychological horror film. The main characters are two artists with a transcendental connection rooted in trauma. Last Night in Soho is a dark urban fairy tale with characteristics of Giallo, time and mind bending elements, the atmosphere of a kaleidoscopic fever dream, and aesthetic echoes of Suspiria. Director Edgar Wright reveals that he identifies with the lead character, a fashion designer haunted by ghosts of the past, because of their shared nostalgia for ‘60s London.
The director’s statement: “My film is a love letter in some ways. […] To the legendary decade, the 1960s, in which London’s Soho district was the centre of the universe. But there’s also an eternal tug of war within me, where the yearning to travel back and luxuriate in the glamour of the 1960s is tempered with the nagging fear of the darkness lurking just behind the rose tinted spectacles. Nostalgia can be dangerous; if you spend too long looking back, you could miss the danger right in front of you. Last Night in Soho is a cautionary tale for dreamers like myself who want to turn back the clock to a time, paradoxically, they themselves never lived in. The question should really be, if you could go back in time, should you?”
“Our version of London is presenting you with the fine line between downtown where your dreams will come true and a full-blown nightmare that is difficult to get out of,” explains Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays the singer from the past. “We’ve all had moments when we’ve been at a party, met somebody and thought, “Oh, this is wonderful, this person is really kind and we’re really vibing,” and then seven hours later you’re like, “Oh, this person’s horrible and I no longer want to be in this situation.” “ She reveals the film is "a very well-directed acid trip.”

Definitely not human . . . . . .striking looking for sure but . . . . . .an Android at best!
No offence!
