Advert Break | TRUCK STORE (my local record shop) | HALF MAN HALF BISCUIT - All Asimov and No Fresh Air / Steve Queralt - Swallow

This just out!

Half Man Half Biscuit - All Asimov And No Fresh Air

£11.99 - £22.99

It's always cause for celebration when Nigel and co log out of Yahoo Chess long enough to bring us another record of their uniquely sardonic, surreally brilliant songs. Judging by song-titles alone such typically Biscuity subjects as Horror Clowns, rawlplugs, The Samaritans and Record Store Day have piqued the interest of our Nige... try us again in a few weeks when we've deciphered all the lyrics for a full review though!

Steve Queralt - Swallow
£11.99 - £23.99
The debut solo release from local chap Ride bassist Steve Queralt arrives via Sonic Cathedral records and sees 'the quiet one' reveal a whole new strain of creativity. Pieced together between Ride albums and tours since their triumphant reformation, the record sees Queralt explore a deep and mesmeric sound-world informed by post-rock, ambient and experimental drones, a broody and atmospheric place resplendent with dark textures and slow-burning majesty. While the bones of the record explore instrumental tropes, Queralt felt there was room for vocals on a number of the pieces and the addition of Emma Anderson of Lush and Verity Susman of Electralene and Memorials add real character to this quietly revelatory album.
