An early childhood favourite and classic book from the then poet laureate, John Masefield’s ‘Box of Delights’ made real via British Television (BBC) - I loved it!

"In a delightful reunion, the cast of the cherished 1984 BBC series The Box of Delights appeared on Blue Peter, offering fans a nostalgic glimpse into the beloved holiday classic. Devin Stanfield, who portrayed the young protagonist Kay Harker, reminisced about his experiences on set, sharing anecdotes about the innovative special effects that brought the magical story to life.
He fondly recalled working alongside esteemed actor Patrick Troughton, known for his role as the Second Doctor in Doctor Who, who played the enigmatic Cole Hawlings. The segment also highlighted behind-the-scenes stories, including the challenges and triumphs of combining live-action with pioneering animation techniques of the time. This special Blue Peter feature provided a heartwarming journey down memory lane, celebrating a series that has become an integral part of British festive television heritage"
