LOU REED
Banging On My Drums 1975 - 1977
Great double set from the peerless Floppy Boot Stomp t'other day . . . . . good for a Friday, night into Saturday morning if you like . . . . . I know I do!
'Some people like to go out dancing' some people like us we gotta work . . . . . . .'
Live from Aubrey, Canada, New York, Groningen Holland and Australia mostly from 1977 Lou was heavily using methamphetamine and drinking at the time but his live work here is exceptional and I have tried to find as much as I could about the band line up (see below)

Notes: in Mike West's book The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed at the start of section 5 known as the discography there is a poster of Lou Reed for a tour of Australia. This gives the November 1, 1977 date as being a Albury Regency Theater date. Well the show features women backing singers who appeared on Lou's shows in the fall of 1977 and the first half of 1978. The transposition of January 11, 1977 with November 1, 1977 and the vague similarity between Aubrery and Albury all lead to suspect this show is from 1 Nov 1977.The lyrics of some songs of this bootleg appears in Lou Reed's Pass Thru Fire book - You Better Get Off That Dance is transcripted as Better Get Up And Dance and Street Hassle (different lyrics) as Affirmative Action (PO #99).
