COP26 - Message from 1967

When one generation blames the one before it we need to look closer somehow at oil and big business. The panjandrums and the fossil fuel advocates, the frackers and those clearing the rain forests of the world for profit. I've been worried about the state of the planet since I was 14 and felt defeated from the off . . . . . .what are we supposed to actually DO? When the Amazon, the lungs of the world, have been turned into a car park will be too late . . . . . it is nearly too late now. How will our children and our children's children judge us?

My guru at the time when I was a mere teenager said:

Come today, come today

What have they done to the earth, yeah?

What have they done to our fair sister?

Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her

Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn and

Tied her with fences and dragged her down

I hear a very gentle sound

With your ear down to the ground

We want the world and we want it (we want the world and we want it!)

Now

Now?

Now!
