Jimi Hendrix Experience - STOCKHOLM 1967 - So Many Roads
I rarely bother with Jimi Hendrix bootlegs lately [or in recent years even] as they are almost uniformly poor quality and the one thing you need with Jimi is to hear a perfect recording to get the nuances rather than what can so quickly sound like 'noise' which can put so many off Jimi's work. This from So Many Roads is the exception and is exceptional in that parts of it are FM broadcast quality and clearly soundboard stuff (don't believe me? check out Wind Cries Mary here, it's truly lovely) but also an audience recording and interview too which makes the whole thing listenable and highly collectible
The liner notes with these say:
Jimi Hendrix Experience - The Swedish Shows Disc 2.
This is the second in a six disc series. These are concerts played by The Jimi Hendrix Experience in Sweden between 1967 -68. All concerts are from the lowest generation masters available.
I do not know the generations of the interview but I can tell you that they are very low and that they are the best I have come across in over 30 years of collecting Hendrix material.
Please note that the original cassette recording for the first source 4th Sept 1967, Stora Scenen, Grona Lund, Tivoli Garden, Stockholm was transferred by the taper to reel to reel. There was then a subsequent transfer so the all copies originating from it should be considered second generation. There are no master copies.
Sorry there is no artwork available at the moment. (see above for alternates)
