Happy birthday to Hazel O'Connor

. . . . . .  born in Coventry on this day in 1955. It's getting kind of late now.

Hazel O'Connor - 'Will You?'
1981

From the movie 'Breaking Glass

although never quite achieving her full potential Hazel O’Connor was in fact no one hit wonder after her hit ‘Eighth Day’ and this great song is a key point in the movie and somewhat indelibly written on the collective memory I reckon ( as all ear worms are?) . . . . a truly great pop post punk classic song of the Eighties

great sax solo . . . . . . . . by Wesley Magoogan who had to fight to gain credit as co-writer with O’Connor for his role in this . . . . . rightly or wrongly it is a classic pop song of the era
Also noting the ubuitous Phil Daniels starring as the ‘love interest’ again in this. Not satisfied by Quadrophenia there he is in this! You can go off people you know Phil . . . . but we didn’t!
