Lucinda Williams - Boston 1999 - Floppy Boot Stomp

 LUCINDA WILLIAMS

FLOPPY BOOT STOMP

Gal's getting on bit now but this is fine fine set from Floppy Boot Stomp back some 22 years ago (sic! I know!) and quite amongst the best ROIOs for recording quality I have ever heard . . . . . when was the last time you could hear the band walking onto the stage!? Staggering stuff. She had Richard Thompson as support opening act here and name checks him as one of her favourite artists which endears her to those who may not know her work over here quite so much as in the States but heck this gal can pen a tune and rock with the best!

The mix on this puppy is excellent!  It is not a monitor mix but the actual house mix so all instruments are present and in full stereo.  The clarity of the recording is remarkable: you can hear the band's footsteps as they first walk on stage as well as onstage patter between the musicians.

[All of Lucinda's song intros have been given their own track ID's so that they may be skipped over during playback or completely edited out when burning to CD.]

Another Guy Smiley Production with unbridled help from Steelys Bro.

Lucinda Williams covers Tom Petty's 'Runnin' Down A Dream' - she is the real deal . . . .
