"History Of British Blues" - Vol. 1 - 1973 - TWILIGHTZONE!

Here's a fascinating long out of print document worth exploring for the Blues freaks amongst you ( no really, who ARE you talking to! - ED)

It begs the question (again) if anyone else in the British Isles struggles with downloading things from Zippyshare!? As far as I can see none of the standard browsers will effect downloading anything which is curious and I can't for the life of me remember why they would do that. All the various browsers [Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari etc] are to no avail for this Apple Mac user but the patient and kind RYP at TWILIGHTZONE sent me instructions around using another browser (Opera which also has a VPN get around) that eventually worked although it takes a while (45 mins poor download and took two attempts) but it is worth reading the jacket and checking out the sounds. for interest RYP often posts things in dual source using either the universal down under Mega, Krakenfiles who work really well also or more recently imagenetz in Germany. For those fans of this item [and RYP personally] I have added here better cover scans than his source (philo?) offers so you can read the notes and check the track listing in more detail.

History of British Blues Vol I 1973 - TwilightZone

RYP notes from the original poster philo:

"History Of British Blues" - Vol. 1 - 1973

"Ryp, Here's a little change of pace. From 1973 History of British Blues Vol 1. Never reissued on vinyl or CD. Compiled and liner notes by Blue Horizon Records producer Mike Vernon." - philo . . . . . . . . .
"This album was one heck of a find for me - It was one I listened to a lot (and still do). An album that peaked my curiousty and had me seeking out more early and sometimes out-of-print British blues albums here in the US during the mid 1970s. Fleetwood Mac's version of Otis Rush's Homework is awesome and Mike Vernon did one heck of a job putting this double album together." - by bluesrecords from Connecticut

Please note this YouTube version is not the version on the album which is way better quality although the track is a blast and personal favourite

The Spencer Davis R&B Quartette - Mean Old Frisco (The DECCA Audition, London, UK, 1963)
yes that IS Stevie Winwood!

That's a real nice collection.
Always liked Cyril, Aynsley's beats and Tony (T.S.) McPhee ( whether it's solo blues or great crunchers with "The Hogs".
The blues came naturally to me - great to play - and despite all my meanderings, I've always got a special place for them.
Cheers,

Glad you liked it Scottish Folkie. Great isn't it? Can I ask what you downloaded it with? Which browser as it were? It took such a long time to sort and in fairness RYP was really helpful but I do find the lack of Zippyshare files access in the UK really irritating.

Thanks for dropping by as ever anyhoo!

Hi,
Yeh, Zippy is a pain as it doesn't like the U.K.

I have been using a V.P.N. - https://www.4everproxy.com/ - for about two years.

It's free but I haven't encountered any issues with it. ( ie no adverts or bugs ! )

You just pick a country that you fancy "travelling to" and away you go.

If you like free download sites, Zippy is good as it downloads fast.

All the best

Cool! I have had really mixed results using VPNs but RYP at TWILIGHTZONE turned me onto Opera with a built in one and it worked a treat. Everproxy maybe I tried and didn't quite know what I was doing because it just crashed and crashed and maybe some have an issue with Macs?
Anyhoo, thanks as ever SF!
