K SPECIAL - BOWIE BONUS :: David Bowie - FiftyTwoyears, The Complete Singles [2023]

David Bowie - Fiftytwoyears, The Complete Singles [2023] CD13 Bonus Tracks (1974-2017) / CD14 Bonus Tracks (2017-2023) (2 x CDs)

Butterboy has come up trumps again and posted the David Bowie Complete Singles collection. Both  A ands B sides of everything released. Awesome job lot and extras too!

K says:

"You might remember this one that was put together after Bowie's passing. But now, four years later, I think it needs an update. If you've never seen this set, it is both sides of every Bowie single, including collaborations, or other singles that he was audibly involved in. Things got more complicated when he stopped making 45s and moved to CD singles, with all the bonus tracks and remixes. I didn't want this to be bogged down with all of that.

I remembered the comments from Willard's and have taken those into account. I got the most flack (pardon the pun) for not having the original UK version of "Rebel Rebel". That's now fixed as I found there was a three-month difference between the UK & US (so no need to have the same song played twice in a row). I also found a B-side that had previously never found its way to CD/digital (Lady Grinning Soul US Single Edit). Diamond Dogs (Australian Single Edit) was added along with Breaking Glass (Australian Single Version), Art Decade (Studio Version), Yassassin (Netherlands Single Version), and the Bertolt Brecht's Baal EP. On top of that, I replaced most single versions, previously found on many different sources with sometimes questionable quality with the Re:Call CDs from the yearly Bowie boxes.

The other big complaint was not including tracks from Bowie's unreleased Toy album. Some appeared as CD bonus tracks. I still don't know what to do about that yet but here it is, and I'd like your feedback!

All credit for this write-up and original compiler goes to Blank Frank.

Following extensive research, I have now compiled two more discs of bonus tracks; singles, B-sides, EP’s, etc. that weren't included on the original 2016 set, plus a few that were still missing on the 2019 update and continuing on with the collection bringing it right up to date with the very last official David Bowie single release: Space Oddity (Love You till Tuesday TV Film Version) which was released as a special limited edition 7” single for Record Store Day on April 22nd 2023"
