The first video played on MTV was “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the English new wave band The Buggles. The brainchild of super producer Trevor Horn it can hardly be called a one hit wonder if you grant that the band WAS Horn but as a band it certainly was.
Horn went on to BE the eighties producer bar none [Yes, Dollar, ABC, Malcolm McLaren, Grace Jones and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, formed ZTT Records with Paul Morley and continued to produce bands like Seal Art Of Noise etc] and eventually joined Yes as key vocalist!
