Posted at the Fanclub and from the page Bob Dylan On This Day
"12th January 1990 - Bob Dylan performs one of his most surprising concerts of his career at Toad's Place, New Haven, Connecticut. Labelled as a "rehearsal" for the upcoming tour, Dylan performs to a crowd of just 700 for over 5 hours. The show, which featured four electric sets by Dylan started at 9pm and ended at some point after 2am!
The first night of touring for 1990 saw Dylan trying out a selection of songs including almost the entire track listing from Oh Mercy - The band consisted of Bob Dylan (vocal & guitar), G. E. Smith (guitar), Tony Garnier (bass) and Christopher Parker (drums).
The show although rough and very much sounding like a rehearsal in places (with some songs played more than once) Dylan performs 50 songs, of which 18 are covers and others are rare or unperformed originals. As well as requests from the audience!!!"

"Marking the 34th anniversary of a singular Dylan event. (A friend of mine was actually there!)
From the setlist - there were a number of "only ever performed on this night" covers - these were Walk A Mile in My Shoes (Joe South), Trouble No More (Mckinley Morganfield), Pay the Price, Help Me Make It Through The Night (Kris Kristofferson) and Dancing in The Dark (Bruce Springsteen).
Also of note was a rare outing for Precious Memories from his 1986 album Knocked Out Loaded. This song has only ever been played live 3 times by Dylan with this being the last live performance, to date! Also the final (to date) performance of the Traveling Wilburys song Congratulations again played only three times in Dylan's career."
