Gene Clark - That’s Alright By Me (1967)
After Gene Clark’s first post-Byrds LP Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers sold next to nothing, he recorded a bunch of demos to shop for a new label. Not one of the 8 tracks from the acetate ever appeared on a Gene Clark recording until 2018 when they were finally released. This might be the pick of the litter, though 7:30 Mode is pretty great too.
This is great and although not picked up by anyone (sic?!) does anyone else hear a touch of R.E.M. to this fine fine song?
Just me then . . .startin the Day/Week/ Month with this! I love it . . . . . feeling a bit better today and the temperature has dropped back down to 99.4F! Was 100.6 (is that high? ) don’t think so but starve a fever and feed a cold yes? So am oKAY!
Normal service will be . . . . etc etc
